It's all about me...

So who is Christian?
So a little bit about me. I live in the UK and I’m a creative director and founder of the digital agency DesignUK now konstructive.

My passion is design. I enjoy telling stories, solving problems and helping clients achieve their business goals. Over 25 years ago I started out as a creative in print-based media before being seduced by the possibilities of the online digital world.
During my career I’ve had the pleasure of working with an exciting diverse range of clients in both the B2B and B2C sectors. In 1997 I founded DesignUK and made a solid commitment to help make the digital world a more beautiful and effective place to do business.

I see myself as a visual communicator and problem solver with a forward thinking can do mentality, love working with motivated and talented professionals and thrive under pressure. I have a burning desire to make the world online a better place and relish the challenge of delivering beautifully effective and engaging digital solutions.

I’m experienced in creative strategy and creative direction, client presentation and consultancy, team mentoring, developing ideas, user experience and experience design, conceptual design and design direction. I’m passionate about understanding and embracing new technology while focusing on finding ways to creatively use it to build brands and create engaging experiences.
What’s firing me up currently?
I’m currently interested in the agile inspired approach to design, with its roots in the lean manufacturing process, as new technologies and media become available there is a real need to keep moving things forward and looking at ways to streamline and work smarter.

Of particular interest to me is the ability to maintain the design quality and honesty of the final solution, while effectively and efficiently working together at all levels to create the most effective and engaging final design. Check out my blog for some of my latest musings.
Explain one of your key traits?
Well apart from being the best and most modest designer I know (;-)) A key trait I’ve honed over the years is the ability to listen and to grasp the bigger picture. When working on large projects its way to easy to get lost in the detail and although many options may need to be explored, more often than not the simplest most effective solution is arrived at in the early phases of the design process. The task then is to fine tune and simplify further, document, test and deliver. Less is very often more. The simplest solution is most often the most effective. As Albert Einstein once said:

Any idiot can make things complicated it takes a genius to make things simple.
